Mohammedan Sporting Club clinched victory 2-1 against Aizawl FC in the highly anticipated fixture of the ongoing I-League at Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium, West Bengal on Sunday.

Mohammedan SC started their first half on a positive note as they made an early goal. In the 7th minute of the game, taking advantage of the defensive lapse of the visitors' keeper Vanlal, Samuel Lalmuanpuia found the back of the net with a brilliant right-footed shot from outside the box. 

However in a few minutes, Aizawl FC made a comeback in the game with Mafela who netted the ball for an excellent equaliser. 

Mohammedan tried to gain their lead back, but was met with strong defenses from the visitors. Then in the 27th minute, Alexis recieved the ball from Angou and curved the ball in past Vanlal to clinch Mohammedan's second goal of the match. Mohammedan Sporting held their position, while Aizawl FC showed off their attacks throughout the rest of the first half.

The second half of the game was filled with close chances for both teams to score. They displayed splendid defensive and offensive capabilities, but lacked proper finish and were unable to goal and hence the game ended with Mohammedan SC's victory.
